The Certified 2010 Municipal Population estimates are estimates of municipal population as of July 1, 2010 residing within municipal boundaries as of July 1, 2011. The Standard 2010 Municipal Population Estimates are estimates of municipal population as of July 1, 2010 residing within municipal boundaries as of July 1, 2010. Thus, for each municipality, the Certified Estimates differ from the Standard Estimates by the July 1, 2010 estimate of the population of all areas annexed from July 2, 2010 through July 1, 2011.
The Certified 2010 Municipal Population estimate for each municipality and each county unincorporated area has been sent to the corresponding municipal or county government. The entire set of estimates has been sent to the North Carolina Departments of Revenue and Transportation, to be used in the distribution of state-shared revenues. Municipal estimates are available listed alphabetically by county or listed alphabetically by municipality (does not contain county balances).
