"Accountability, Transparency, Performance, and Effectiveness are the pillars of management analysis at OSBM."

Performance Management
Performance management creates greater accountability and strengthens the results of government through the continuous improvement of state agencies' performance. Performance management not only builds upon statewide and agency-specific strategic planning efforts to determine a desired direction, but it involves thorough evaluation of state progress in a variety of critical areas. These areas include statewide outcomes such as violent crimes rates but also common administrative tasks such as human resource management. Beyond planning, other key components in performance management include gathering and using reliable data, analyzing performance, communicating results, and developing and executing plans for improvement.
OSBM is involved in the following performance management efforts:
Agency Overviews
Each cabinet-level agency provides an overview discussing its mission, goals, and strategies for the near future. Along with this information, key agency indicators are presented and discussed to communicate what work is done and how well it is performed.
Agency Performance Measures
Agencies provide measures that allow OSBM to evaluate current performance. Reporting is done through the results-based budgeting initiative and data for 2009-11 is available by department.
